Sphere was founded in 2002 as a band deeply rooted in death metal tradition, and has remained as such to this day.

Sphere’s music has always been rooted in an old school genre of brutal and aggressive death metal.2004, after several line-up changes, the band released a Spiritual Dope demo, which was enthusiastically received by the metal underground. In 2006 the band entered ZED Studio in Olkusz to record their debut album "Damned Souls Rituals" under the watchful eye of Tomek Zalewski. On 20 January 2007, the band debuted with the LP released through Empire Records. The album sold nearly 5000 copies. Thanks to their debut, the band played a number of concerts including, among others, Metalmania 2007 and has supported such legends as Vital Remains and Master.

Three years later, the revolutionary album "Homo Hereticus" is again recorded in ZED Studio, Olkusz. “Homo Hereticus” was a continuation of the path chosen by the formation. The album was created as a homage to the death metal scene, drawing heavy inspirations from old school death metal but not avoiding a modern look at the genre by having a hellish dose of massive groove, making the album very clear in tone impactful and heavy. The band played a number of concerts promoting the material, including supporting death metal legends Cannibal Corpse, or a mini tour in Northern Ireland.

In 2015 Sphere have created their the last album "Mindless Mass", recorded at Heinrich House and released under Deformeathing Production. The promotion of the album included 32 shows between 2015 and 2016, with such greats as Cattle Decapitation, Disgorge, Cryptopsy, Obituary and Hour of Penance.

In October 2021, after 7 years of silence, the band entered Janos Studio with fresh lineup to record their fourth album entitled "Blood Era". The release of the new album is scheduled for May 6, 2022. again under the banner of Deformeathing Production. Two guests appearances will also be present on the album. One has already been unveiled to be none other than Damien Boynton known from Desolation and from his performances with Vital Remains, among others, on a DVD from Metalmania 2007. The second one is none other than Dave Suzuki, the driving engine of Vital Remains and now Churchburn. Both gentlemen recorded their parts in one song, so it is going to be a great reunion after 15 years.
